Humble Beginnings
Our extraordinary story dates back to 1974 in the melting pot of Brooklyn, NY, where Aaron and Nazeem grew up as childhood friends. Their upbringing taught them mutual respect and the ability to appreciate diverse cultures. With halal and compatible kosher foods easily available in their neighborhood, they took for granted the food choices they appreciated most. Although years progressed, youthful cultural lessons remained. While traveling throughout Asia, the lack of halal and kosher food choices were clear. Before long, Pious Food was conceived to fill this gaping void.
